Let the Adriatic sea behind your shoulders and follow the Musone river, south of the Conero mountain, direction Apennines. On the hills south your look will cross the Basilica of Loreto with his monumental chapel dominating the olive fields on the slope below. Going forward, between the hills on the northern side of the valley, the fortress of Castelfidardo and Osimo surrounded by his ciclopic walls will appear to you.

Following back the river stream the massive San Vicino (the roman Mons Vicilinus) Mountain will dominate more and more the skyline of  the Apennines at your horizon until you reach the small village of Casenuove. Between the old Houses on the main road, just in front of the bishop’s building, you’ll find a small white road that conducts you up to the hill. There you’ll enter our estate.  On the road’s right side you’ll see the vineyard wich sizes his self at the Monte Torto hill, right over the archeological site of „Casenuove di Monte Torto“ where a farm of roman age (1st century b.C. – 2nd century a.C.) was discovered and re-brought to light. More than 2.000 years ago they still were collecting and working grapes and olives, as the well conserved rests testify. Large quantities of wine and olive oil were produced, lagered and marketed right here.

A little more down, on the left side, you’ll find the cellar were our wines are produced, aged and stocked under the cross vaults of the “Casone”, a building already existing in the 14th century.

This building is situated at the centre of the extended “Tenuta di Monte Torto” which has been property of the bishops of Osimo from the 14th century until 1861. After the unification of Italy wich was concluded that year it has been a share farming country house until short time ago.

The names of our wines are connected with the history of this region: during the share farming period the owner divided the property in smaller parts assigned to single farmer families. Every single part kept the traditional name of the place: Casone, Monte Torto, Monticello, and so on. That economic organisation exists no more at current time but the landscape and the surviving agricultural architecture keep evidences and imprinting of it. Those names keep on living today in our labels.

Within that landscape signed by a long human history our work keeps his roots. The grapes are harvested in the vineyards around the cellar building: 6,3 total surface, 4 were planted with Montepulciano, 1 with Merlot, 1 with Fiano and 0,3 with Incrocio Manzoni vines.

Come and visit us personally to taste our wines directly at the estate! You can take the occasion for visiting also the archeological site which will astonish you with his mystery. We’re there for your visits all around the year: every Friday from 16 to 19 and every Saturday from 9 to 12 and from 15 to 19. Out of that times please call us for an agreement.
